Attention Jazz Fans: Amelia Island Jazz Festival 2018, a week long event of world class jazz, is just around the corner!
Come out to Amelia Island, October 7th through the 14th, for a variety of jazz concerts and events – and it kicks off with a free concert!
Amelia Island Jazz Festival may only be 17 years old but it’s already showing the potential to turn into a world-class event. Like Monterey and Newport, Amelia Island Jazz Festival has attracted a variety of jazz greats. Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker, Spyro Gyra, David Benoit, Buckwheat Zydeco, David Sanborn, Ramsey Lewis, and many others have graced the Amelia Island Jazz Festival lineup.
The week-long festival also includes up-and-coming jazz stars. Players whose fresh new approach or emulation of past greats will surprise and excite festival audiences. The festival is also a stew of styles. You’ll hear world-class swing, bebop, Dixieland, big band, Latin, and contemporary jazz at the festival. You will not be bored!
This year’s lineup includes nine-time Grammy winner and Manhattan Transfer vocalist Janis Siegel performing with the Requinte Trio. Other headliners include jazz guitarist Henry Johnson, El Niño & the Latin Jazz Knights, vocalist Bonnie Eisele, and drummer and festival organizer, Les DeMerle.
